HOPE Village is an emergency housing readiness program and a partnership between The Salvation Army and the City of Longview. The project site is open to individuals who are adults, 18 or older, and experiencing homelessness. This site is scheduled to open before the end of the year. HOPE Village will have 50 pallet or tiny homes, with the capacity to house one person inside each home. Each tiny home will have electricity, a bed, and an area for residents to store personal items. This site will operate 24/7, 365 days per year with hygiene stations, shelter staff, daily meal service, and security on-site. HOPE Village staff will provide residents with case management and housing navigation while partnering with other local social service agencies throughout the community for access to benefits, employment, physical and behavioral health support, and other services to meet our residents’ immediate and long-term needs.
At The Salvation Army in Longview, we believe in new beginnings for our neighbors in need. Our goal for HOPE Village is that this micro-community restores hope in our residents and provides housing for our homeless neighbors in Cowlitz County.

This video is from the grand opening of HOPE VILLAGE, our micro-community that serves individuals experiencing homelessness:
Thank you to our friends at Tsugawa Nursery in Woodland, Washington. The nursery donated trees and plants to our micro-community, HOPE Village, to make our residents feel more at home and have greenery to tend to as they move beyond homelessness. We are so grateful for their partnership!
Thank you to Kellogg Garden Supply! They donated two pallets of soil to HOPE Village just in time for spring! Residents will be using it to re-pot all the trees and shrubs that were donated in December as well as to start a raised garden bed this spring!
Thank you to Keebler Coffee and the Longview Community for the donation of air conditioners for residents of HOPE Village! AC units were installed in each micro-home to ensure residents stay cool this summer. HOPE Village provides temporary shelter to 50 participants in our Housing Readiness Micro Community. This donation is just ONE MORE WAY our community has joined hands with The Salvation Army to serve our neighbors by providing humane shelter and an opportunity to thrive. Many thanks to our donors and Longview City volunteers who made this all possible!
